December 2009 - Writers' Rooms by Eamonn McCabe

This selection of photographs has been specially printed for the Gallery on the Green and was taken by the internationally acclaimed photographer Eamonn McCabe. His natural curiosity about individuals who work alone evolved into a wide-ranging series of photographs of writers' rooms that appeared each weekend in The Guardian. They include jewel-like studies of the working spaces of such eminent authors as Edna O'Brien, Rose Tremain, Clive James, Lord Byron, Hilary Mantel, and our own local hero Bill Bryson.
